The campus unions also represent staff at GCU’s London campus. The fortunes of GCU London have varied over the years, depending on the strategy adopted by University Executive Board. In December 2023, the campus unions, published a broadsheet ‘Higher Education is a Public Good – not just a cost to be managed’, where we took issues with the Principal of the university, Stephen Decent, failing to mention GCU London in his message to staff about future investment on December 1st.

Issues of workload, and also obtaining the necessary resources to professionally deal with the growing number of students now attending GCU London – the vast majority of whom are international students are amongst the issues currently being discussed with the Director of GCU London Peter Jones.
